Welcome to motorsportclassics where you will find a collection of historic motor racing & lifestyle images for sale that are perfect for your home, office, shop or garage. All photographs taken by Steve Theodorou.
My love for photography started back in 1970 where I was lucky enough to get an apprenticeship with a firm of London based photographers where I met my mentors John Maltby & George Tanner who taught me the skills of composition, lighting, processing & printing in the era of film.
1979 was the year I took my Nikon with me to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone where I took shots of cars on the track and that's where my passion for motorsport & photography gelled together. By attending more events sneaking & blagging my way into the paddocks & eventually getting the all illusive Press Pass that then allowed me official access to the track & pits. Over the years I tried many times to get my work published only to be told my shots were too 'arty' or they did not tell a story - so for me 1986 was the last Grand Prix I attended.
It was in 2008 that I decided to do something with my collection of motorsport images and so Motorsportclassics saw the light of day in 2009 at the Autosport International Show at the NEC Birmingham.
I have been exhibiting my work ever since & have met so many great people who have become friends, not just clients. In the past few years I have been commissioned to cover events such as Le Mans, Monaco Historique, Spa 24hr Race, Goodwood Revival, Bentley Centenary Book, The Bernie Ecclestone
Grand Prix Heritage Collection & producing bespoke books of clients cars.
I have also photographed & got to meet some of my all time racing heroes.
We hope you enjoy browsing through our collections & look forward to meeting you at events sometime soon.
